The zia is an ancient sun symbol that originated with the Zia Pueblo indians. It reflects the spiritualism of the basic harmony of all things in the universe. The lines of the zia represent the four directions, the four seasons and the four divisions of life, childhood, youth, adulthood, old age. Everything is bound together in a circle of life and love, without beginning and without end.
